About ADA
Our History
ADA is a non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-profit making civil society organization based in Adigrat, Tigray, Ethiopia. Agame Development Association (ADA) is a legal, certified and registered organization with registry number 3978 mentioned as a local organization in accordance with the civil society organizations proclamation number 1113/2019 of Ethiopia.
The association that has been engaged in problem-solving activity for a long span of time was established by the initiation of voluntarily organized members of the local community of Agame who strive to help the needy through different social and cultural interventions. Its main objective is to facilitate various development activities in collaboration with different partners for the betterment of the livelihood of Agame. The organization mainly focuses on vital activities that the government is unable to address timely, especially in the sectors of health, education, climate change, harmful traditional practices, and the development of cultural and historical heritages of Agame. In view of that, we have achieved a number of instrumental goals.

Cultural Heritage
Promoting and developing cultural values, traditions such as festivals and tourism potentials of the area. In the province that is identified as Agame, there are plenty of natural, historical and cultural sites that can attract tourists.
Among the historical sites are Gundadundo monastery, Debredamo monastery, Geralta historical and natural sites, etc. Moreover, there are cultural festivities and values in the province which are exceptional and attractive and can be used as a source of tourism. Thus, DAA is working on advertising and promoting the historical, cultural and natural tourism sites in order to benefit the community living there and thereby preserving and conserving the sites for sustainable development.
Our Services
ADA Strategic objectives
Improving health and educational status. DAA works to improve health and nutritional status, hygiene and sanitation conditions in the community, and increase access to health and education services in its operational areas.
This is to be achieved by: (i) taking action to address sanitation and hygiene-related health problems by promoting a community/school-led total sanitation and hygiene promotion approach, (ii) strengthening the capacity of health provision systems and personnel through targeted training, mentoring, review meetings, experience sharing and provision of necessary materials and equipment and (iii) helping education quality by providing supportive sanitary materials and training to female students about MHM and rewarding outstanding students.
Cultural Development

Helping startups with resources and guidance to succeed. Our community support program focuses on empowering local entrepreneurs and small businesses.
We provide training, mentorship, and access to resources that help community members start and grow their businesses. Our goal is to create sustainable economic opportunities that improve livelihoods and strengthen the local economy.
